Global beef insights take centre stage at Beef Australia 2018

28 March 2018

For the first time Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) will bring its highly anticipated annual Global Markets Forum to Beef Australia 2018 offering the latest global insights on beef.

The Forum brings MLA’s market specialists, chefs and leading red meat businesses from around the world direct to Rockhampton to share their insights on the megatrends shaping beef consumption, trade and market access issues, the competitor landscape, and the strategies MLA is pursuing to support the growth of Australian beef in our major markets.

Delivered over two half-day sessions, the Forum will be facilitated by respected rural journalist Pete Lewis and features special guest speakers including leading beef brand marketers from Teys Australia and Stockyard Beef, and a market research specialist from Millward Brown.

The Forum will also feature a Q&A with Internationally renowned chef Curtis Stone.

MLA General Manager – International Business, Michael Finucan, said the Forum will take attendees on a journey from the consumer insights and market trends influencing demand for Australian beef, through to the market strategies MLA is implementing to ensure Australian beef is in the premier position on the global stage.

“The Australian beef industry is an export driven industry that operates in a global environment, with issues such as global trade and market access and what influences consumers, acting as key profit drivers for our industry,” Mr Finucan said.

“Holding our annual Global Markets Forum in the heart of the beef industry’s premier event in Rockhampton presents a unique opportunity for producers along with key industry players to hear the latest insights directly from our international team of in-market experts.”
