Billy seeks nanny – a roadshow not to miss

21 August 2018

If you’ve got goats or you’re thinking about getting into goats, keep your eyes peeled for a goat producer roadshow meeting in your local area in the coming months.

MLA is rolling out a series of practical one-day workshops on grazing and nutrition management, predation control and crunching the numbers behind the industry. Attendees will have access to experienced local producers as well as business, health and nutrition experts. The meetings will be kept practical and hands-on so attendees will also get into the yards to look at things like visual assessment for culling and condition scoring.

MLA’s new goat resources and tools will be available and producers will be able to sign up for more in-depth, practical courses which will cover techniques like how to calculate browse grazing, assess land condition and learn what to look for in business financial statements when you’re looking to expand or invest.

Initial workshops will be held across southern Queensland and northern NSW with other regions to follow.

It is hoped that all the workshops can be held on-farm to keep things practical, so if you’re keen to host a meeting, please let Miranda know.
