SheepLinks FEED365 | WA

Western Australian livestock producers, from low to high rainfall zones, have an exclusive opportunity to participate in an all-year-livestock-forage systems research project.
FEED365 is a new and exciting project developed to re-design livestock forage systems for grazing all-year-round in Mediterranean environments.
Co-funded by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), FEED365 has been designed to assist grazing systems in southern WA that are challenged by climate change with increasingly hotter, drier and more variable seasons. It aims to create resilient sheep production systems, enabling farmers to increase livestock returns by grazing quality (green) forage all year round with minimal supplementary feeding.
FEED365 will be evaluating forage species from a selection of traditional and novel species including:
• perennial legumes and grasses
• annual legumes and grasses
• winter forages
• grazing crops
In partnership with the Grower Group Alliance (GGA), a spring field day will be held at the Katanning Research Facility for grower groups and individuals to gain a better understanding of the FEED365 project and tour the research facility.
