Producer Demonstration Site: Healthy Subsoils Produce More Red Meat

The MLA funded producer demonstration site Healthy Subsoils Produce More Red Meat is being conducted with the Yarra Valley Farmers and Alexandra / Mansfield Farmers Groups in North Central Victoria. The PDS is aiming to demonstrate that once a subsoil constraint is detected, then amelioration of soil constraint(s) will improve pasture production, and grazing enterprise resilience and profitability. This will give producers the required confidence to apply the practices being demonstrated and unlock the potential of their pastures and utilise the latest pasture genetics. 

The group are holding a field that is open to group members, local producers and the wider community.

The day will consist of a seminar presentation in the shed, from 10am – 12pm, followed by lunch, with an in-paddock demonstration from 1-3pm.
