PDS Field day, commencing at 8.30am at the shearing area of Longreach Showgrounds, morning to discuss learnings from the Making Maiden Weight Producer Demonstration site (PDS) Project funded by Meat & Livestock Australian, and to improve your body condition scoring skills.
Followed by, a selection and classing workshop. Learn about:
- Setting a breeding objective
- Introduction to ASBV’s & traits of significance
- How ASBV’s can be used in conjunction with existing visual classing strategy
- Factors that influence selection and classing decisions.
The workshop will be held in the Fairmont room at the Longreach Civic Centre.
