Monaro Training Weekend - Peter Westblade Scholarship & Monaro Farming Systems
The Peter Westblade Scholarship Incorporated has been running an interactive hands-on weekend for 18-30 year olds for the past 6 years. Each year the PWS is able to accommodate up to 30 participants along with up to 25 speakers and committee members over the weekend.
The Monaro Farming Systems (MFS) group was established in 2007 by a progressive group of local innovative producers with Industry support with an aim to build capacity and continuous improvement in the Monaro grazing Industry. Over the following years, MFS has grown from strength to strength and now consists of over 65 farm businesses which equates to over 200 individuals.
Aims of the Training Weekend:
• Encourage, educate and mentor young people with practical training in the sheep and wool industry.
• Provide hands-on and practical learning sessions for attendees to improve their skill sets and increase the professional networks.
