Beef Australia 2018

The biggest event on the national beef calendar returns to Rockhampton in May 2018.

MLA is proud to support the event as a principal partner.

About our partnership

MLA’s association with Beef Australia dates back to 1988 when ‘beef week’ was first held (as part of the country’s bicentennial celebrations).  It was such a success that it was decided to host the event every three years and MLA has been involved ever since, working with Beef Australia to help shape the program and make the event the best it can be.

Taking place in Rockhampton, Queensland on 6-12 May 2018 the event aims to promote and grow the Australian beef industry to domestic and international attendees by showcasing the clean, green and safe credentials of the industry, along with the versatility, taste and nutritional benefits of Australian beef.

Celebrating all facets of the Australian beef industry, it will feature more than 4500 cattle from over 30 breeds, cattle competitions, a trade fair of more than 500 businesses; a symposium, seminars, property tours to deliver new research information to producers, and restaurants, celebrity chefs and cooking demonstrations to appreciate the quality and flavour of Australian beef.  Additionally, the event will facilitate new trade and export opportunities by exposing the local supply chain to international business interests.

MLA at Beef Australia 2018

On behalf of red meat producers, MLA will host an enticing program of activities aimed to educate, celebrate, entertain and immerse attendees in all things Australian beef – and in particular new technologies and tools being used to drive value and innovation through the beef supply chain.

Above all, MLA is excited to feature the progressive and innovative work being undertaken throughout the industry. MLA will also use the event to continue its latest marketing campaign, promoting Australian beef as ‘The Greatest’.

MLA’s Beef Australia 2018 plans include an MLA trade site, seminars, the Paddock to Plate 360 immersion experience, celebrity chefs and cooking demonstrations, and for the first time will host the popular MLA Global Markets Forum during the event.

MLA staff will be on hand to demonstrate to visitors about how MLA is working to increase the prosperity, sustainability and competitiveness of the beef industry.
