Maximising winter feed production | Richmond, Tasmania


You are invited to attend an information session for pasture producers at the Richmond Town Hall. Hear Jason Lynch from Macquarie Franklin discuss his top tips for maximising winter feed production and what you can do to boost pasture profitability.
What you will learn:
- grazing management strategies for winter
- best management practices for using nitrogen fertiliser andgibberellic acid to boost winter pasture production
- methods to maximise dry matter intake to improve animal performance
- efficient rotational grazing practices
- pasture management training opportunities.
Theory followed by a field walk:
After the morning session, we will drive to a farm close by to look at some pastures and discuss what preparations and planning can be done to maximise winter feed production. Local producer Chris Gunn will discuss how he’s managing his pastures differently as a result of completing a Pasture Principles training course and the benefits for his red meat business.
