The Australian meat industry has had a presence in the US for decades, over which time much goodwill and many longstanding relationships have been developed. MLA aims to build and maintain relationships to stimulate supply chain development and value growth through new and existing accounts.

Business development occurs in three main areas - the import / wholesale trade; retail; and foodservice.

In the import / wholesale trade, MLA educates and informs the US participants about the market situation, insights, and business opportunities.

In the retail and foodservice sectors, MLA assists with supply chain relationships with the end result being an increase in the value of sales of Australian beef, lamb, mutton and goat meat in major accounts.
