Business development

EU-BD-photo-2Australian beef and sheepemeat access to the EU is highly restricted by quotas. Therefore, maintaining a strong network of government and industry stakeholders through regular interaction is one of MLA’s major priorities.

Business Development in the EU region is focused on four key areas: trade, retail, foodservice and consumers. Through account management, training, market knowledge, educational technical support and the development of direct consumer sale activities, MLA’s EU office works to create commercial opportunities that increase the value of Australian red meat exports and fully utilise available quotas.

Additionally, MLA aims to enhance relationships between exporters and importers of Australian beef and sheepmeat and improve promotion to high end retail and foodservice. MLA ensures that the trade has a detailed understanding of the Australian supply chain and market trends, focusing on supporting better business decisions.
