SIAL China is the third largest food show in the world, and next year will celebrate its 20th edition. Major market players from retail, hotel/restaurant/catering (HoReCa), food services, the import/export trade and manufacturing come to this show. It sets the benchmark for overseas companies stepping into Asia and China as well as providing valuable market insights, trends and innovations of the regional food industry, in particular in the meat, dairy and beverage sectors.

Asia accounts for two-thirds of the world’s population and China’s middle class alone is growing by 20 million people per year.

SIAL China 2019 covered an area of 199,500 sqm of exhibition space in 13 halls, and welcomed 4,500 exhibitors representing 70 countries and regions, and 123,000 professional visitors. The Australian meat industry was well represented with 26 participants on MLA’s stand and a number of others present in various forms across the show.
