What are MeatUp forums?
MeatUp forums give you a chance to catch up with other producers and industry experts to hear the latest in red meat R&D. They are one day events held throughout southern Australia, developed by regional producer working groups in collaboration with MeatUp coordinators and MLA. The program is purposely designed for red meat producers in each region, covering a range of topics and ideas.

Virtual farm tour
MLA’s MeatUp forum virtual farm tour was filmed at Chilwell Farms located in WA’s south, 90km east of Esperance. Owned and managed by the Fowler family, brothers Simon and Andrew are responsible for the day-to-day management, with their wives Robyn and Marie. In this Virtual Farm Tour, the Fowlers will open their business to you, showing what they do, and what systems they have in place to achieve success. This includes:
- Business overview and history
- Overview of cattle system
- Overview of sheep system
- Pasture improvements
- Crop Grazing- its management and role
- Feedlot system
- Importance of people and WHS in the business
- Plans for the future
