Carbon EDGE

Carbon EDGE is a two-day training program delivered across the country, providing insights into opportunities for emissions reduction and carbon storage activities in a livestock grazing business.

Participants will develop an action plan tailored to their business, as they learn about the practices and technologies to reduce their carbon footprint and improve sustainability and productivity.

Why attend a Carbon EDGE workshop?

Carbon EDGE provides an opportunity to develop an action plan tailored to your business to improve sustainability and productivity all at once.

  • Learn through group-based activities with the support of an expert deliverer providing locally relevant information.
  • Receive independent, research/fact-based information in a course developed by red meat producers, for red meat producers.
  • Equip yourself with the right resources, including a manual, planning template, tools and resources to take home.

What will I learn?

Over two days, gain an in-depth understanding of:

  • your carbon account and emissions intensity, and how to change on-farm activities to reduce emissions while improving productivity
  • opportunities and risks associated with generating carbon credits and their use to benefit livestock businesses
  • supply chain drivers and how to future proof your market access
  • how to develop a carbon action plan that incorporates practical, achievable strategies to meet business objectives.

Who is the Carbon EDGE program for?

Carbon EDGE has been designed to help grassfed beef, sheep and goat producers who are looking to build on their understanding of carbon.

Advisors and other service providers looking to enhance their understanding of the current operating environment are also encouraged to attend.

How can I prepare for a Carbon EDGE workshop?

The design of the Carbon EDGE workshops recognises that everyone will be at a different starting point when it comes to carbon. However, it is highly recommended that participants complete pre-work before attending to get the best out of the program. This includes the eLearning modules available on MLA’s Toolbox and complete a carbon account using MLA’s Carbon Calculator.

Will a workshop come to my area?

More events are currently being planned across Australia and will be added to the website when confirmed. If you can’t make one of the workshops above, register your details to keep informed of new workshop dates.
